Brake pads convert the kinetic energy of the vehicle or machine into thermal energy by the use of friction. A brake caliper typically has two brake pads inside of it with their friction surfaces facing the rotor. Each side (left hand and right hand) use 4 pcs of brake pad. Some of the car model has front and rear brake pad, but some cars only need front brake pad.
